Age and breast cancer
All women are at risk of breast cancer, and the two most important risk factors are being a female and getting older.
The older you get the higher the risk is of getting breast cancer. Most breast cancer deaths occurred in women who were over 50. For now, the best defense against breast cancer is early detection.
Younger Females
Even though it is rare, young women can also be diagnosed with breast cancer. Only about five percent of all diagnosed breast cancer patients are under the age of 40. While the rate of this disease is much lower among young women, there are some certain genetic factors that can put some young women at a higher risk.
